Why does PS3 customer service suck?My system quit reading all discs ( Blu-Ray, Games, DVDs). Everything else works fine and these pricks want $ 150 for me to send it to them to look at. Is there anything else I can possibly do to fix this? The warranty ran our last month... Go Microsoft!

You can possibly try to find a local game shop NOT game stop and ask if they repair console. I know some places offer to look at your console for free and then if they can't fix it they contact sony for you and I'm sure they get a cheaper deal than the suggested for you. Got my psp fixed for 50 bucks! Well it been after a year and microsoft 2 year warranty cover the red circle of death...yea!!!!

Dude, try talking to Microsoft's Customer Service. It is so horrible. I mean absolutely terrible. If your warranty runs out on your 360, they charge you basically 380$ to fix it.

Microsoft will only fix a console that suffers from the red ring of death (RROD). The ps3 has never suffered from anything as serious as mass system failure so there is was not a need do not give free service as much*. If anything other than RROD happens to a xbox 360 (ex. disc failure, video card failure, etc) and it isn't under warranty then it will cost $ 100 (in USA) for repair.

*exception was with the 2.40 firmware update where a number of units appeared to had brick after the update was installed. Sony fixed all units effected for free.

you look like a person who got hit with a bad firmware update. 2.42 is im right.

they suck because who calls them? and they dont really care who takes your calls. has long has they are taken

well you'll probably have to wait for God of War III but i think that....maybe Resistance would help you. But DO NOT buy Haze. Dont. Never. Overlord is a good game, Dead Space, Condemned 2 (if you like games that creep you out a lot), and inFAMOUS.

Resistance Fall of Man
Resistance 2 (these games are like Halo, FPS, AR, BR, auto-generating health, fighting aliens, etc)
Killzone 2 (more advanced Halo-like, classes, FPS, etc)
the list goes on, but I'll take all night to type 'em. =)

How do I fix video on PS3 help please?I have my PS3 at my cousins house so we can ply it and I am using an hdmi cable but when i plug it in it wont read the ps3 video or audio how do i fix it so it shows?

If you have previously been using an av cable, then you have to go into the settings and tell it you are using a hdmi cable, and also the same for the sound. Usually when you connect hdmi it finds it automatically and asks you if you want to use this option, but sometimes it won't

when switching output types :
turn on ps3 system - hold console power switch 5 second - it will beep 3 times and reset the video output
