Can i format my ps3 hard drive using a computer or laptop?My ps3 got a ylod, and some people said formatting their hard drive fixed the problem, but i don't no a way to do it.

Put the hard drive into your PC, you will need a SATA power connector and data connector in your PC to do so, then you use software like partition magic boot disk you can format the PS3 drive using FAT32.
Once the drive is formatted you can put it back into the PS3. Once you power on the PS3 it will ask you if you want to format the drive. Say yes and follow the on screen instructions. It's basically the same stuff you went through when you first got the PS3.

You need to remove the hard drive from the PS3 and plug it into your computer. Then format it as a regular hard drive. When finished, plug the hard drive back to your PS3 and it should work.
