How to hook up PS3 to Internet using an ethernet cable?I have a PS3 and the Ethernet cable, and I have no idea what to do to hook it up online.
I also have a router, and I have the ethernet cable in the LAN port on both the PS3 and the router.
The router isn't lighting up, but I can't hook it up to the modem because it's upstairs and hooked up to the computer and phone, while the PS3 is downstairs.
How do I make this work?

Your router needs to be hooked up to the modem before you can do any of this.

If the router is wireless / take it upstairs and plug it into the wall and the modem. PS3 has instructions on how to make the wireless connection.

If you want to get online, the router must connect to your modem. There is no other way to get on the Internet.
