PS3 Slim explicitly says unable to install Linux, but who knows...someone will mod this eventually.
Unless you really need Linux on your PS3, get the Slim. It is proven to be slightly faster, run cooler/quieter, and has a larger hard drive than the older 80 gb PS3 fat version.
