PlayStation Home will be free, except for the extra content (bigger houses, better items, etc.) The open beta is said to be coming out in a few months and the game hopefully by the end of the year, but don't be shocked if it's delayed until early 2009.

It will very likely come out around october, but it may be delayed...again.

It'll be free. Open beta is coming out this Fall, alpha - in the beginning of the next year. You can enter the lottery on Japanese PSN and win closed beta version.
