How do I perform the Chimney Jump in Tomb Raider Underworld for ps3?

Keep tapping the jump (X) button. It doesn't matter the timing, you can just press away.

Jump towards a flat, smooth wall and Lara will manage to grab on for a moment. When she does, press the jump button and she will push off the wall, jumping in the opposite direction. If she is positioned between two such walls, you can do this repeatedly until you reach higher ground.
