my ps3 usb ports dont work, can I pair my new controller without using the usb lead?Ive tried restoring and this has not worked, I recently repaired the system after Ylod and my controller was fine, but the usb's stopped working for some bizzare reason, (60gb first issue), Ive tried resetting the controller but no luck. Sony are a waste of time so Im not even bothering them.

To pair your or a new controller you must use the ps3`s usb port. Are you sure that the cable isn't damaged. People make the misstake of plugging the usb ports to fast or hard and then they make it weaker and destroy it. The only way to fix it is to get somebody or do it yourself and soder where the usb connectors are wired into and soder a usb cable so that it bypasses the usb connector. But I must give up a warning is that if you use to much and short circuit it I am not responsible. So its up to you but I don't see you have many options. And its not Sony's fault, I have the 80 gb and it works like a champ.

there might be something wrong with the cable, or you mighta messed up the ports somehow. the xbox's suck so don't listen to that douche. i got an 80g and its totally fine
