no it doesnt although you can access online from it. it doesnt have apps either but there is tons of downloadable content for it from the online store it has

It has no word processor, no. Its native OS does have these things:
)video player
) music player
) photo gallery/slideshow organizer
) web browser
) folding@home, if you decide to add it and make your ps3 part of the most powerful operating computer ever
You can only add custom applications if you install an OtherOS. As of now this still means installing linux. You can get a fine linux distro at http://www.psubuntu.com and install it, then you can do anything a pc can do, minus things requiring direct video rendering, because the ps3's graphics chip and memory are locked out from OtherOS use. Playing video works. You can rip video from the web too, and convert it to mpeg4 format/codec for use on the regular ps3. You can play software-rendered games, up to the level of Quake 2, which is the best 3d game that still had software-rendering options. The number of apps is somewhat limited cause not everything has been coded and compiled for ps3's PowerPC architecture. But there's still quite a few.
Another thing you can do is download record-my-desktop, and then set up remote desktop with your pc, open up a window of your pc's desktop, start a game on the pc, and record the game! only works for 2d games but you can't do that with a xbox.

Yes PS3 has apps, you can download game, interactive art, Home, Life with Playstation, demos and all sorts of things. Most of which are free.

That's what a PC is for ! The PS3 is a video game console ! Why would you want a word processor app on it !
