What type of resolution and video connections does the PS3 support?Ok, so i'm thinking about a PS3.
I did some reading, and found out that the 60gig version (who wants the crap 40 version anyways) has HDMI output.
Unfortunately, i have an older CRT HDTV (heavy too!) that has no HDMI in, ony component. This also means that it supports 420p and 1080i, but NOT 720p.
So, my question is twofold:
1. Can i connect the PS3 to my television via component (Y/Pr/Pb)?
2. I've heard stories that the PS3 doesn't support 1080i for games, and instead falls back to 420p. Please confirm or deny this. If the PS3 doesn't support 1080i fully, then it's not worth the bother until either they start, or i shell out for a newer TV.
