Why do ps3 games get lower ratings?I'm talking about multiple platforms. For example GTA IV the Halas of gay Tony when it was on the xbox only, they said it had visual quirks and it said it was starting o show it's age. Now when the ps3 versioncame out that thing on the xbox review was gone from gamespot. Another why did Fallout 3 get a better rating onthe xbox, even though the graphics were barely noticivle in changes. NOW I played final fantasy xiii on the ps3 first, then I bougt it for he xbox as a travel console. But on the xbox, all the in game cutscenes, and CGI cutscenes are VERY grainy, like even I you have not played the ps3 version it's terrible. The peoples faces in othe people are blurry, there textures are blurry and it's pixelated like hell even in the opening CG, the rocks and everything lags and is like when you have a bad quality video and you get. This squares. I think all the grainy, blurry pixelated video is from when they compressed from 720p to 540p :@

anyways my question is, I have heard slot of people saying Microsof pays for better review scores, and I'm starting to think this is true >_> cause what they did to the videos in XIII is a crappier job then I would use a basic free video converter.....

xbox 360 is overall better platform and it takes a lot les time to make it on xbox 360 as the ps3 has slightly better graphis whereas ps3 most gaming companies can be asked to make it that much better

Graphically, the two consoles are about the same. Neither is really better than the other. And yes...I know there are a LOT of people that will (violently) disagree with that point, but it's true.

Sony does require a tad more coding for a game to run on it's chipset, but that is the processor, not the GPU...so once the game(s) are coded, they are sent to the specialist teams that take the code and "customise" it for a particular console.

Since you're having all these issues with your 'box, the only thing I can suggest is that there is an issue (physically) with your 'box. It could be age, or it could simply be a bad chip...

Then there is also the possibility that you're trying to play on an overly large TV. If you have a 60" TV that you're playing on, then you're not really going to have any console (or computer for that matter) that will be able to preduce a non-grainy and non-stuttering image. It's a combination of resolution, and horsepower in the GPU. (Which is why for "best results" "they" tell you to use multiple monitors instead of one huge monitor.)

Good Luck!

PS: As for MS buying-off people for ratings...while I wouldn't put it past them, I wouldn't also make an accusation either. After all, this *is* a public forum, and anything you "say" here can come back to haunt you.

Depends on the game; but most of the time its because they are used to making the PS3 version rated less.

In FF13 they rated the PS3 and 360 version the same and yet the 360 veersion is in sub-hd, compressed sound, compressed everything!

Most of the time Multiplatform games are simply better on the 360. The games are made for the 360 first and ported over to the PS3, and many developers half-ass it.

Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2, for example, is identical on the 360 and PS3. Whereas Platinum Game's Bayonetta looks horrible on the PS3.
